Blue Ridge Chapter Workshops 2018-2019

We are quickly filling in our calendar for workshops this year and hope you will join us as we develop the final schedule.  We will be providing the full number of credits for licensure.  If you know someone who is not a member who would like to join, or wish to renew your membership, please see our new website at:  https://vscsw.org/join/   We are particularly proud of our new website, which promises to provide updates from each of the chapters, announcements, video and audio recordings as we complete this phase of development.

Dr. Stephie Winter-Marlin – She deserved it!  Why We’re Still Working With Facts and Fiction of Domestic Violence.

This will be a reflection of her research and clinical experiences n Domestic Violence.

Bob Taibbi, LCSW – Therapy as Performance

Material from this workshop is based on Bob’s latest book, Process-Focused Therapy, and focuses on tools to help you proactively shape the session experience for each particular client — leaving clients feeling differently when they walked out than when they walked in, making the most of the session process to maximize clinical effectiveness.

We will have a presentation from members of the Social Work staff of the Richmond/Charlottesville Veteran’s Administration – Treatment of Veterans with PTSD: Clinical and Ethical Issues (tentative title)

David Reid, Ph.D. – Ethical Issue of Practice Management and Counseling. (3 Credits – meets requirements for licensure)  To Be Announced.

George Enfield, LPC et.al. will present on Play Therapy and Techniques of Working With Children (Tentative title).

Trisha Lynch, LCSW will offer a presentation on Equine Therapy.
